Testing Urine for Sugar and Proteins

I've been asked to make up a urine testing kit for this afternoon but after a quick google I can't find any notes on what goes into making the 'urine' samples. The teacher is looking for:

Sample A - normal sample
Sample B - sugar sample
Sample C - protein sample

I'm thinking for Sample A I could just colour water with food dye or possibly tea? Then I can add glucose for Sample B and egg albumen for Sample C?

Any other ideas welcome

It's what I would do! I use food dye, a little yellow with a smidge of brown. Send it in warm too!

Just make sure you deliver them warm..... a little below body temperature.... "Here are your urine samples - they're nice and fresh....!"

Then do the finger slip* taste test

*Dip our middle finger then quickly put your index finger in your mouth - they never notice the switch

That's exactly what I do. Tea bags work really well. !

Cold tea with glucose and albumen added. Some folk add a bit of ammonia too.

I found the food dye we have interfered with the biuret test so I usually use felt tip ink. I'll give tea a try next time.

When I didn't have any egg albumen I had to use some dissolved gelatin for the protein sample. It worked great as long as it didn't get too cold at which point it developed a slight wobble so looked like there was something very wrong with the donor

I add a dash of vegimite to my urine samples, really does stink like piss when it's warm.

We us four samples, glucose, album, water and soap, as above all mixed with warm water and vegimite.
