Solidified paraffin liquid in sodium bottle - disposal method?

I need to top up my pot of sodium metal, but have noticed that the paraffin has solidified. Can I discard this straight onto absorbent material, or do I need to do something special?
Also, a teacher broke one of the potassium bottles, but I don't have any amber bottles to replace it. Would there be an issue using a clear one?

Thank you :)

There are probably bits of sodium in the sludge. I usually scrape it into a beaker with some fairy liquid and add plenty of water.
