I bought a hand mincer for £2.99, from a charity shop!

We just wrap up the ice in a hand towel and get smashing with a rolling pin.
great stress release.

I once broke my finger when the bag of ice slipped and I automatically caught it with one hand, while the other hand completed the downward swing with a meat tenderising mallett! - you have been warned.

If you can find an old-fashioned top-fed hand-powered meat mincer made of stainless steel it would be robust enough

I fill 2 litre pop bottles and keep them in the freezer. But I have to remember to put them in the freezer!

We bought something like that Lidl ice maker. We keep it in the science staff room so we can use it for drinks as well as experiments.

we did it with stearic acid this year. they got some results.

We did too, cracked open one of the 4 pots we have and the HoD was very happy with the results
