Positive male chemists/scientists for display board idea.....

Morning all. Would appreciate some ideas here! We have various boards here, chemicals in textiles, celebrating Black chemists, women in science. In response to the recent horrible person who has been in press lately and is in Romania under arrest ( do not even want to give his name validation here)...I wanted to just find some young male scientists to showcase and shine positive male dynamic. Any ideas....obviously Google is my friend but any input would be grand....x

British Science Week have got some scientist profiles under "Smashing Stereotypes" that you might find useful - I'm currently working on turning them into display board materials (they've got a variety of accompanying images here).
Excellent - just made posters of several of them for "Women in Science day" (11th Feb), so that I can put them up during the week before half-term.

There are a few people on YouTube who can be good for STEM.
Mark Rober, Stuff made here, NileRed. There are bound to be a lot of others but these are the ones I follow. Some of the stuff they do is more for entertainment, sometimes that's all you need to get people interested.

ChemicalForce is really good. High production value and does some very unique reactions involving highly dangerous chemicals.
I also personally like Cody'sLab. the man is a genius and delves into all three sciences.

Seen the video where he splashes around in mercury no gloves? That'd give cleapss an aneurysm if they seen it. :safety:

You think that's bad? Watch the video where he bites on sodium metal or inhales nobles gases. ;)
The dangers of mercury are actually over-exaggerated. It's not dangerous to touch as long as you don't have any open cuts. It's only an issue if it gets into your bloodstream or you inhale it for extended periods.

I saw the noble gases, didn't know he 'ate' sodium! Gonna go find that later.

I know it's relatively safe to touch, I've never had the gall to try cos I bite my nails so not risking it!

There are some great examples on our chemistry careers job profiles page.
