Please help - to get rid of some sodium

Hi there, I am new to this forum as a technician from college recommended this forum to me.
I have about 600g of sodium left over and I am wondering if there is any way to get rid of it easily.
I would be happy to send to someone if they wanted it as I do not need it anymore and I would pay for postage.
I am happy for any advice on getting rid of the sodium

Should it not be in a jar of paraffin oil?
Firstly contact Cleapss.
In house safe disposal l would say is difficult because of the large amount.
The hazcard may have an answer.
In answer to your question if l had that much Sodium l would approach neighbouring schools and provide documents such as ordering details to prove it is safe in date etc. And ask if they would like it.
They would probably not want it or be allowed because of anxiety regarding a strange circumstance.

Any school would need to agree to make such a transfer and safety officers and management should be completed in the process.

The other alternative is an expensive disposal.
Look to see how old the element is.
Cleapss will help here.
If it was K you would have a bigger challenge as it is very dangerous if it ages and starts to yellow.
Cleapss it.

Selling or giving it away here is not allowed because of our rules on buying/selling chemicals. You certainly cannot send that in the standard post!
Speak to CLEAPSS ASAP and they will advise you on what to do with it.

I am going to close this thread to further comments as the OP needs to get professional advice outside of these forums.
