This is terrible.... I am getting a season ticket....I will be there every day except Thursday.....
Will probably need the summer hols to get over it :D
That's incredible dedication! We figured one day would be lethal enough!

Yes, all very exciting, but...

Any chocolate places? *foams at mouth*

I promise, we pace ourselves carefully - it is a great opportunity to sample beers we would not normally be able to try - so we take a lot of food and water and drink thirds rather than pints (although not sure how many thirds will be consumed....)

Soooo looking forward to it!

Hope you have a good session, Amplitoad.

Places on my 'To Visit' list now are; Iceland ( Not the shop, although over 60's Wednesdays are handy)
Pou du Fou ( just decided), Port Merrion, Budapest.
Port Merrion is lovely, visited a couple of years ago, costs about £15 each to wander round the village. You literally can't get in if you don't pay. Port Isaac is lovely too and that's free!

Pembrokeshire coast for me!

The whole of St Bride's Bay is beautiful and my second home. My particular favourite (and lesser known compared to its immediate neighbour St. David's AKA Tyddewi) is Solva/Solfach- the surrounding coastal walks are amazing and they have the most beautiful little L-shaped beach. Neat art gallery owned by a really nice Cuban bloke. Good food from a variety of nice pubs (I like The Cambrian). Beautiful wildlife (swifts, kites, a variety of seabirds, and see if you can spot the wild ponies!).

I'm a little further round this year in Dynbych-y-pysgod staying in one of the pretty pastel houses on the seafront. <3

I love the whole place.

Portmeirion's lovely! :D Absolutely surreal place. My advice is to get in as early as poss and dedicate a full day to it at least- outside The Village proper there's some really nice walks around the cliffs, on the beach and through the forest.

Bit nearer to home, the big beer festival at Olympia in London in August!
I managed to convince my boss at a previous job that I should go there as a work trip, so got a free ticket for the opening day which is limited to people in the drinks industry! I spent several hours wandering around with a colleague, sampling as many beers as possible while "networking" and handing out business cards everywhere I could. Happy days

Love over 60's Wednesdays!
I love Budapest.
We went for new year, it was very cold but clear blue skies. Sat on the banks of the danube at new year, under a heater with a blanket over my knees watching the fireworks with a hot chocolate (with something extra!)

Love the idea of a free ticket for a work trip!! Not envious at all!!

The lovely thing about the season ticket is we get to go to the trade session too, which is a very different experience from the rest of the Festival. It is a good intro to the whole thing.

Hi all,

With Summer looming in the not too distant future, our thoughts turn to holidays.
Want to share some good places to visit that we may not know exist?
My son away this weekend to this place;

It looks great. Excellent reviews. I've put it forward as a possible residential trip for next years Activities week.
Plus, I really want to go! Not your usual type of theme park.
Puy du Fou is excellent - a really great day out. And it's DEFINITELY worth booking for the evening show which takes place around a lake - simply spectacular.

School are interested. Would you say enough to do for a few days? Or things to do/see in surrounding area?
