To recognise those who help raise the profile of our profession, we are delighted to introduce this new Preproom Enamel Badge.
Featuring the distinctive Preproom logo, this badge has been designed as a symbol of recognition, achievement and community spirit. Much like the iconic Blue Peter badge, this badge cannot be purchased. Instead, it must be earned through meaningful contributions that support and celebrate the work of science technicians and will remain highly exclusive, with only a limited number issued each year.
The badge will be awarded to individuals who demonstrate a commitment to promoting the science technician profession. Recipients may include:
- Authors of our monthly Spotlight articles featured in each Preproom newsletter. (bear in mind we have a 12 month backlog at the moment!)
- Preproom members who consistently go above and beyond in supporting colleagues and the wider technician community.
- Science communicators who help raise awareness of the essential work carried out by science technicians.
- Individuals who actively showcase, celebrate, and advocate for the profession through events, social media, outreach activities, or educational initiatives.
Preproom was founded on the belief that science technicians deserve recognition, support, and opportunities to connect with one another. The introduction of the Preproom badge is another way of celebrating those who embody these values and who work tirelessly to champion the profession.
We look forward to awarding our first badges and recognising the remarkable individuals who help make our community stronger, more visible, and more influential.
