Minutes silence?

yes - we're a Catholic school and have a bell for a minute of silent reflection at midday during lent anyway; and the diocese sent round a video to be shown in all classes today.

Not a school-wide thing here, but the boys school did. We heard their bell tolling for a minute as we in the prep room stood for a minutes silence

Well, We are the same as @Smiff12
Even an email explaining why not would have been better than nothing.
A lot of the teachers were surprised that nothing was said or done.

Had an email this morning explaining and everything went quiet at 12. Also doing this today;-

Tuesday 23 March

UK National Day of reflection supporting NHS Charities Together

As it approaches a year since we went into the first lockdown, we would like to thank the NHS for their amazing work. The Covid-19 urgent appeal was launched by NHS Charities Together to raise funds to support NHS staff, volunteers and patients impacted by Covid-19 across the country. As a school, we would like to commemorate and support those affected by Covid-19. We ask you to donate £1 or more on scopay. In doing so you will have the opportunity to write the name, of those we've, or others have lost on a ribbon and tie it up around school to honour their memory, or a general message to everyone impacted.

Aww that's actually lovely!

Like most thing our school forgot so apparently we will 'do something next week'
I personally had a moment to myself to reflect and remember all the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunt, uncles and friends lost
Bless them all

Yes - signalled by the bell. As we are a Catholic school we also had a prayer circulated from the Bishop. Was impressed just how quiet the kids were down in Science.
