Fume Cupboard Service Confusion

Has anyone had to fill in one of these before? My HoD has never seen one and it seems like it applies more to technology? Very confused....

No, we had ours serviced by Tecomak in October and we weren't asked to do this

Ours is covered through the Bursars office, anyone who comes in must complete forms etc as we never see them, I suspect someone is passing the buck or doesn't know what should be happening if you have ended up with forms to fill.

Same here, the site manager organises ours, it's hard work getting the paperwork out of him, usually it has lots of comments/warnings even though they pass.

I follow the CLEAPSS guidance and leave it at that, if the school want to pay someone else to do the testing they can do so, if they do I'll expect the company concerned to fill the paperwork in, I guess the site manager should retain a copy rather than me, as long as the fume cupboard has a pass sticker with a date on it and looks okay I'll use it when the need arises.

Apparently just writing we follow the guidance isn't enough...

Mines tested every year, but getting the paperwork is a nightmare. They usually come during the holidays, but this time they came at 6-30am. Luckily the morning caretaker is my OH so he let me know it had been tested.

Whoever said that is clearly an eejit
It has that written in the example you've given above

The lines literally have "according to CLEAPSS" and "see CLEAPSS for details" on them for each extraction system.....

In which case I can only advise you send it to CLEAPSS and ask cos I would have done the same, clearly someone doesn't understand that you can't fill that out for all 200+ substances we might use it for... that's why CLEAPSS do it for us
