Flat ended multimeter probe?

I have a teacher describing what sounds like a flat ended probe so when you do the resistivity of a wire practical you push down on the wire and minimise your point of contact so you can measure the length more accurately. Any ideas?

As an aside the evaluative questions they'd get in the exam on that are deliberately about the fat ended banana plugs being too big and not efficient

If they insist on using the jockey fair enough but sounds like missing the point*

One of those jockey things?

Yes! I knew I’d seen one before but didn’t know what it was called!

I think the teacher wants sixth form to compare both.

I use a fine brass split pin attached to a lead with a 4mm plug on the other end, students just trap the wire in it and slide it along, they can line it up with the markings on the ruler.
