I always loosen the top of the wash-bottle so that it's vented.I have a small metal cabinet for flammables in the prep room, 3 or 4 250ml bottles of each substance only. The bulk containers are in the chemical store flammables section. I keep a small glass bottle of 'dirty' ethanol on the bench for cleaning things, but that's all.
I don't keep it in wash bottles in case it evaporates or the bottle gets squeezed!
We keep our larger volumes, Winchesters, in an outside store, medium volumes in a locked Flammables cupboard in the larger prep-room and a couple of wash-bottles in the smaller prep-room that is also my office, just for cleaning labels of the odd bit of kit.I have a small metal cabinet for flammables in the prep room, 3 or 4 250ml bottles of each substance only. Is it now stuck open or closed? Cause I'd argue one is safer than the other! We have a Flammables safety inspection today, it seems. Typically, I've just broken the key in the one flammables cupboard lock..![]()
locked, but can be opened with a thumb, by rotating the lock. I'll strip the lock in a bit.Is it now stuck open or closed? Cause I'd argue one is safer than the other!
With the Group 1 metals, not the flammables cupboardIs it ok the keep magnesium ribbon in the main chemical store room or should it go in the flammables cabinet?
