Dropping like flies...

And here - five off from science this week. Two with definite covid. I'm keeping out of everyones way, I haven't got time to be ill before Christmas. Singing commitments, short staffed with technicians while we wait for our new one to work her notice, off to London cat sitting one weekend, taking my aged mother to Bristol another weekend. Aargh! They can all keep away!

Had 4 science teachers off with Covid here last week - one really struggling to breathe apparently - but a full complement this week....

It's real Science not Rocket Science
Last Monday we had 15 staff off - a mixture of teachers, SEN, cover supervisors and facilities people

So long as you're vaccinated, you've got a reasonable chance of being OK. It may be worth you seeing if you can get a flue vaccine before coming too.

I was off last week, came in but ended up going home on Wednesday. Lots of students and staff have had 'something.' I felt worse than I did when I had covid, could barely move and still have an awful cough. It's also hit my partners workplace, and they only meet up for an office day once a week.
I had covid and flu jab last month...

Can confirm. Got hit by an awful head cold Thursday evening, spent the whole night sweating and shivering so I took Friday off. It's settled down to a horrible cough now, not covid though. Several other members of staff have been off with various things. When I got covid a few months ago my main symptom was a dreadful cough for 2 weeks, so I wonder if that made me more susceptible to them as a result, as I don't normally get a bad cough from a cold.

I guess it's just cold and flu season and it's the first time we've all been mingling freely without masks for a few years, we're all just getting the colds at once.

No herein lies a small problem. I am vaccinated and have had the flu vaccine but due to completely opposing seasons I had my flu vax at the start of our winter in April. Hopefully that still covers me but I am seeing a GP next week so will check with him.
