They have finally put a rota in place here, still 30 staff for 5 kids though.
I'm spending today making lesson plans, printing resources and getting equipment ready for the projects they're doing over the next few weeks - all stuff the designated teacher was supposed to do last week but didnt, basically I am planning and organising the entire science structure for the next two weeks.

We have now gone to 1 reception, 1 SMT, 1 site team and 1 canteen. to get there they walk, drive or school pays for a cab, told not to use the tube or bus.
The kids on site do the same work as the ones at home in the library.
Do they not understand what a three week lockdown is.
Go home and self isolate. about 50% of people in who need IC die.
I really believe you should not be doing that. Schools should be running with as few staff and resources as possible, and staff should not be in unless its essential. You have to think about yourself here, none of what you've listed is essential or your responsibilty.
We were sent home yesterday with some loose instructions on what we can do to fill our time while working from home. We should be staying at home though, which is not just a school instruction, but a government one too. Our site has 5 members of staff in ( 2 SLT, 1 site, 1 canteen and 1 teacher) with the 8 students and that's it. The students are all working in the library doing the same work as those working from home. No resources needed, no projects, no printing or photocopying. They have been assigned a computer each and that's it.

Our Head is very work driven so we are expected to be in when on rota, be contactable to call in if someone else calls in sick, to work full contractual hours and not to question it all.
We have to provide 'fun projects' for the kids for an hour of science each day.
I am in again on Friday and then Wednesday next week (as long as the two other people they're shared the 'resources/data' roll with don't call in sick, then I'll be in whatever day they call me).
I live with my parents who are both nearly 70, I really don't want to be the one who brings the virus home
I feel helpless though, there is nothing I can do.

Our provision is being made through volunteers and they've specifically said not to worry if your personal circumstances mean you can't volunteer.

Same. I was in yesterday for a couple of hours and have said I can do anytime over the holidays, but they seem to be prioritising having teachers in rather than support staff. Each teacher that has been in has only done a half day, and only about half a dozen teachers have been in for any one session
Here in UAE schools were closed 2weeks(early spring break), last week is our remote learning and this week also, there is a contingency plans to continue remote learning for teaching staff in case.
But then I am a non teaching staff(senior science technician), i have reported to my immediate line manager(head of dept) that I will work from home and finish my Overseas and Local Orders, then Inventory after. My question is, is there anything we could help in remote learning?i could only see videos to help them for experiments other than that--???You think we we also needed when they are in google classroom? My HOD asked about our PPE equipment but it's mostly all used or boxes are open and not hospital grade. I don't think any of it would be suitable.
i got them all home on friday to wash and count and then they would be collected today, but my husband started coughing yesterday afternoon. So we have decided that they can be donated in a couple of weeks time, just in case. I think he just has a cold but we dont want to run the risk.
I don't think used and washed would be good enough anyway.

I would assumed that they would clean/sterilise them before use anyway.

Yes, I went a week or so ago & took gloves anyway as I thought their need greater.
Got call on Saturday for the goggles. Shame we hadn't had order through for new. All ours were getting to the pretty scratched up stage & I hadn't had chance to clean them yet. Hopefully they can make use of some of the better ones.
i asked the lady who emailed us about it and she didn't know either so i figured it couldnt hurt. better used than nothing.

They are pretty desperate tbh. Goggles can be sterilised & don't have to neccessarily be medical grade at the moment.
GLOBAL shortage of PPE. If you have any packs of gloves try your local Doctors, they need them too or will send to hospitals if they don't need them.
I found a pack of face masks too.
Hospitals have had every thing from us
Yeah, waiting to hear from HoD and SMT, so it is a necessary journey into Central London.
