There is just one, graded as senior. I'm just filling in until they get a permanent member of staff...I retired 5 years ago! Its been an awakening for the brain cell. :)

It seems most are now, its proving very difficult to fill posts I think...

Indeed. School I am going to had been advertising for a tech since June of last year! Lovely, small private school too... I was honestly shocked they couldn't find anybody.

Possibly because most schools seem to insist on only advertising tech roles on sites like TES/JobsInSchools/MegaSchoolJobSiteGetOneHere. If you have a science background and are looking for jobs, it's unlikely that you're even aware of such sites.

Ages ago in previous jobs, I told the HoD to advertise on CLEAPSS and other websites for my replacement. They were free. Gave me a blank look and it never happened....

This one's only on e-teach! I put it on here just in case, they should be advertised everywhere but I guess its HR not knowing what the job really is and who is likely to apply. :(

They've been doing the same with the technician vacancy in my school, its been 4 months of e-teach adverts and still no-one. I've pointed out people looking for relatively low paid part-time non-teaching jobs are unlikely to have even heard of e-teach but :(
