  1. Hello all,

I have to prepare a protein solution for a medical diagnosis practical,

Do you have to suggest anything?

  2. albumen, do you have it in the chem store?
  3. It needs to be very dilute and will still look cloudy.
  4. If your intention is to use ALBUSTIX you should aim to have a protein concentration no greater than 20 g per L (Max upper range). tace ranges are between 0.1 and 0.3 g per litre. If you don't have Albumin you could use an enzyme as your protein source.:);)
  5. If you don't have albumen to hand you can buy egg white powder in the baking section of the supermarket and solution of that does for most of the uses chemical company bought albumen does

  6. Yes I used albumen. I also removed some of the bubbles and cream from the surface of the solution in order to not indicate that this solution contains the protein.
    GeorgetheScienceTech and Jaytee like this.
  7. Separate and egg! Easy and cheap.
  8. It's actually foam - a clear indication of a protein solution. So you were wise to remove it as it would be a giveaway.:);)
