Electrolysis Cells

  1. Hi all!!

I’ve been told we need to buy in a new class set of electrolysis cells - our old ones are very broken so we have been using stand alone electrodes in beakers for quite some time.
I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on the best ones to get or if they’re easier to try and make instead!

    Thanks!!

  2. Have a look at the CLEAPSS site, they have a make it guide for these.

Students use the petri dish lid with electrodes - as per the RP protocol - but we have a couple of made-in-house versions using wide necked bottles (if you look at the guide this will make sense) for teacher demo to show an alternative method.
