Anyone know a good place to get this other than the NCBE website?
Do you mean the flat, fabricy stuff for electrophoresis, or the carbon fibre rods that CLEAPSS recommend for making microscale electrolysis cells ?
The electrophoresis stuff.
Can you post a photo of the front of the pack so I can go in and say I want this please?
Assuming you can get finance to pay for it
edit: posted before I saw you wanted the other type - oh well someone might find this useful
This might work ? https://www.easycomposites.co.uk/#!...-cloth-under-150gsm/Plain-weave-90gsm-1k.html
or this looks like the stuff in the NCBE kit https://www.ecfibreglasssupplies.co.uk/product/non-woven-recycled-carbon-fibre-matt-100g
As an aside, I find that you can reuse the carbon fibre electrode material for electrophoresis. Just rinse it in water and let it dry flat. Its good until it goes too wrinkly / fluffy.
It has a Electric Resistivity of 1.7 x 10-3 Ω⋅cm so might just do the trick!
Old carbon fibre fishing rod do?
Or tent poles ?
I just wasn't sure about the woven structure - will it fray and fall to pieces when you cut it up ?! If not, it looks like it would be sturdier and more reusable than the non woven stuff.
If you do buy it, please will you let us know how it fares ?
I shall let you know. Just putting in an order now
I bought mine from Ebay.
