  1. Can anyone advise me on the concentrations of copper sulphate and sodium hydroxide for the Biurets test? CLEAPSS recommend 0.01M CuSO4 and 0.1M NaOH. Although this gives a colour change in the presence of protein it is from blue to a deep purple. We can't get the pinky-lilac colour that is indicated on Wikipedia.
  2. No worries! We've sorted it!! We were using 0.1M CuSO4 instead of 0.01M, the bluer colour of which turned our lilac to a deep purple!!

  3. Easily done!
