Anybody had any luck in replacing the batteries on these ultra violet torches from Bio Rad
Not yet. They are clearly meant to be disposable, so that's pretty much a direct challenge in my book. Once one dies, it will be getting a good taking apart.
I was having this discussion with my apprentices last week. No solution so far. Battery not yet gone, so discussion wasn't too in depth...
just get some if these, takes AAAs and 1/3 the price
I decided to open mine, there are 3 A63 button cells, 1 LED and some springs, lots of glue, it wont be going back together.
I think they are AG3 silver cells. Nothing but the best for Biorad.
How did you manage to open it up without complete destruction?
I didn't, the "vice of knowledge" may have been involved. (pliers )
ah, ive taken a hacksaw to ours then re-glued it back 'Frankenstein-ish'
