Any idea what these are?

  1. Clearing out a cupboard, I found this tube of rods. There are 6 rods made of graphite ( I think) wrapped in cellophane and labelled (see pics). The tube is labelled Ringsdorf-Werke. I think they have something to do with spectra but have no idea how they are used. Worth keeping?
     
  2. Werk Ringsdorff Werk seems to be a German factory.
     
  3. I Googled "Ringsdorf-Werke tube" and found a US patent application for the following:

    GRAPHITE TUBE FURNACE WITH SPECIMEN SUPPORT FOR ATOMiC ABSORPTION SPECTROSCOPY
